About Varanasi

Between 1724 and 1737 he built five observatories and Varanasi was one of them. The observatory tells positions of stars, altitude, time and eclipses.

Ramnagar Fort: The fort was built by the Raja Balwant Singh in the year 1750 and is located opposite to Tulsi Ghat. Inside the campus, there is a museum and temple for travellers to see. It is the resident of the current king Pelu Bhiru Singh and tourists cannot access that part of the fort.

Sarnath: Sarnath is the place where Gautam Buddha gave his first sermon to people and his disciple. The place is also one of the important pilgrimage sites for Buddhist. The site is located some 13 km from the Varanasi.

Banaras Hindu University: The Banaras Hindu University was established in the year 1916 by Madan Mohan Malaviya. With its over 1300 acres is a great place to go and explore the history associated with the campus.

Kashi Vishwanath Temple: The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and also one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, which means the holiest of Shiva temples. It sits on the western banks of the holy Ganges River.
